The PokéMart is a shop found in most cities throughout Project Polaro. It allows players to purchase essential items using Pokédollars, such as Poké Balls, Potions, and other useful supplies for battles and exploration. In some cases, PokéMarts may also contain special NPCs that sell limited-time or rare items.

Standard Functionality

Most PokéMarts include a clerk behind the counter that allows you to buy common items like:

  • Poké Balls
  • Great Balls
  • Ultra Balls
  • Potions, Super Potions, and Hyper Potions
  • Antidotes, Paralyze Heals, and other status cures
  • Revives and Full Heals

Special PokéMart Variants

While most PokéMarts follow a standard layout, some have unique features:

  • Celadon City – The PokéMart is located in a separate building across the street from the PokéCenter. A second NPC near the counter provides upgraded Roulette and Casino features.
  • Elegant Valley – The PokéMart includes specialized vendors for EV/IV Training items and high-cost TMs.
  • Mysterious Grotto – Hosts a Battle Points (BP) vendor, allowing players to exchange BP for competitive items after battling in the Battle Tower.

Event & Gamepass Interactions

During certain events or updates, PokéMarts may temporarily offer:

  • Event-exclusive items (like seasonal gifts or scrolls)
  • Access to reward NPCs after specific battle challenges
  • Distribution of gift Pokémon through side NPCs (like Heatran or Ho-Oh) if the conditions are met

Notable NPC Examples

  • Clerk in Viridian City PokéMart – Offers the Professor Oaks' Parcel early in the game and grants a Legendary Dog if you’ve purchased the x4 Legends Boost Gamepass.
  • Celadon Market NPC – Explains the PokéMart’s move to a new building and offers Roulette options.
  • Elegant Valley NPCs – Allow for the purchase of nature-changing services, TM moves, and stat viewers.

Trivia

  • PokéMarts share the same exterior building as many PokéCenters but have distinct layouts internally.
  • The Viridian City PokéMart plays a key role in the early-game story by triggering the delivery quest to Professor Oak.
  • Some locations (like Cinnabar Volcano) use PokéMarts as hubs for unique NPCs rather than traditional item shops.
