The Christmas Event was a limited-time event in Project Polaro, first released on December 31st, 2024. A second phase, released on January 29th, 2025, introduced updated Santa rewards, an Upgraded Event Wheel, and event swarms. The event officially ended on February 6th, 2025.

Event Wheel[]

The Event Wheel can be spun at a cost of 10 gifts per spin. The rewards on the wheel and the possibility of obtaining them are shown below.

Dark Skinifier or Dark Aura Potion 0.75%
Super Tintifier 0.1%
Present Stakataka or Grinch Zangoose (Christmas Hidden Exclusive Skins) 0.07%

Upgraded Event Wheel[]

The Upgraded Event Wheel can be spun at a cost of 50 gifts per spin. The rewards on the wheel and the possibility of obtaining them are shown below.

Christmas Exclusive Skins[]

17 Christmas Exclusive Skins were released in this update, and there is a 1/1000 chance to encounter these Christmas Exclusive skins, with the exception of Pokémon with one singular skin, that being an event skin, that skin will have a 1/100 chance to be encountered. Those skins are the following: Krampus Walking Wake, Rudolph Iron Leaves, and Oogie Iron Hands. With Part 2 of the Christmas Update, event swarms were introduced, which give all Pokémon with a Christmas skin a chance to spawn as a swarm.

Methods of Obtaining Gifts[]

Held Items on Pokémon[]

Wild Pokémon may carry various held items that contain Gifts in differing quantities. The likelihood of obtaining these items and their respective rewards are as follows:

  • Christmas Gift – Appears with a 1 in 400 chance and grants 1 Gift.
  • Rare Christmas Gift – Has a 1 in 4,000 occurrence rate and rewards 5 Gifts.
  • Christmas Sock – Found at a 1 in 14,000 rate, yielding a random amount between 15 and 30 Gifts.

These items provide valuable opportunities to collect Gifts while encountering wild Pokémon.

Santa[]

Santa will spawn as an NPC every 30 minutes, with the a message in chat reading: "A distant Ho ho ho was heard in [Location]," with the location being randomly selected each time. However, Santa has appeared more often in: Vermillion City, Aether Paradise, Glacier Cliffs, Viridian City, Pewter City, Cerulean City, Lavender Town, and Almia Town. After defeat, Santa will reward the winner with a random amount of between 2-12 Gifts. Based on the number of players in the game, multiple players can now claim gifts for beating Santa, not just the first player. The maximum number of players that can claim gifts is calculated using the following formula: (max_claiming_players = players_in_game / 4 + 1). For example: If there are 4 players in the game, 2 players can claim the rewards. If there are 6 players in the game, 3 players can claim the rewards. If there are 10 players in the game, 4 players can claim the rewards. If the calculated number of players eligible to claim rewards is 3 or more, additional gifts will be given to the first 2 players to beat Santa: The first player will receive 1–10 additional gifts. The second player will receive 1–5 additional gifts. The team Santa uses for battle is displayed below.
